What is the best solution for controlling your pellet equipment remotely?

Do you have a local heating equipment?

✔ Recommended solution: Smart ON/OFF switch

Local pellet heating systems already include a built-in room sensor, which measures the temperature in the room and automatically adjusts the power and ventilation to ensure the desired comfort level. Therefore, the most practical and economical option for remote control is a smart ON/OFF module, which allows you to:

• Turn the equipment on and off remotely

• Set operating schedules

• Integrate with voice assistants

One of the models available on the market is the Shelly 1 Mini Gen3. This model has been tested with our equipment and has proven to be easy to install and compatible with its operation.

You can also choose any other smart module that works with a dry contact (NO/NC contact), as long as it guarantees electrical compatibility with your equipment. This is a versatile and widely used solution for remotely turning heating systems on and off.

In addition, this module is compatible with voice assistants such as Google Home or Alexa, allowing you to turn the equipment on or off even when your hands are full.

Do you have central heating?

✔ Recommended solution: Smart thermostat

Pellet-fired central heating systems do not have a built-in room sensor. The equipment only measures the water temperature, not the room temperature. Therefore, the most suitable solution is a smart thermostat, which allows you to:

•    Adjust operation based on the actual room temperature

•    Program schedules

•    Optimise consumption and improve efficiency

One of the models available on the market is the Netatmo smart thermostat. As in the previous case, this product has been tested with our equipment and is easy to install. You can also choose any other smart thermostat that works with a dry contact (NO/NC contact), provided that it is electrically compatible with your equipment and that the device offers adequate hysteresis, ideally at least 1 °C or adjustable.

If your goal is only to switch on/off remotely, you can also opt for a smart ON/OFF module.

 

This thermostat is also compatible with Google Home, Alexa, and other assistants, allowing you to control your heating even when your hands are full. For example, you can ask for the temperature to be turned up while you are cooking. Maximum comfort with a simple voice command!
